The company led by Broker/Owner Bruce Ware has served the resort area of Lake Placid and Westport, known as "A gateway to the Adirondack Mountains," for nearly 30 years. Bruce and Carolyn Ware, who manages the Westport office while Bruce builds the business in Lake Placid, have a long tradition with the area known not only as host of two Olympic Games but for its outstanding beauty, a close-to-nature place to live.
Bruce has been in real estate in the area since 1993, and has owned Venture North Associates since 1996. He holds designations of GRI (Graduate, REALTORS® Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) and RSPS (Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist). He was President of the Northern Andirondack Board of Realtors, 2005 and 2006, and was involved in the merger of the Clinton, Franklin and Essex Counties MLS. Carolyn has been a licensed agent since 1995.
Bruce's family played several prominent roles in the history of the Adirondack Region and Lake Champlain. He is a descendant of Col. Francis Lee, whose family built their first home, "Stoneysides," in Westport in 1805, making Bruce and Carolyn's children Madeline and Alan seventh generation natives. His great, great uncle, Thomas Lee, built the Westport Mountain Spring and bottled the water, as well as designing and building the "Westport" chair, forerunner of the well known "Adirondack" chair. And, his sister Alice was responsible for organizing the Westport Library Association. Carolyn Ware has been serving on the library's board for more than 10 years.
A team of home-grown professionals is eager to serve Essex County from the comfortable environments of the two offices, offering a full range of services and highly trained experts.
